By the 17th century, advancements in baking techniques gave rise to the light and fluffy cakes we know today. Fun fact: The birthday cake tradition dates back to ancient Greece, where round cakes were offered to Artemis, the goddess of the moon.

Cake Base

The cake base forms the heart of every cake, made from carefully selected dough or batter that determines its name and texture. At graceDgrains, we proudly feature the Chiffon Cake as our signature choice – a light, airy masterpiece that provides just the right stability for stacking, while maintaining a delicate, melt-in-your-mouth quality. Unlike dense alternatives, it avoids the unappealing “brick effect” and pairs seamlessly with any filling for a perfectly balanced flavor and texture. Staying true to our philosophy of wholesome ingredients, we prioritize natural flavors and colors, offering timeless classics like vanilla and rich chocolate as our go-to options. Each base is thoughtfully layered and filled, delivering an indulgent experience in every bite.

Cake Filling

Delight in options like creamy chocolate ganache, tangy raspberry jam, smooth vanilla custard, or decadent salted caramel, or our all time favorite: diplomat cream.

Cake Icing

Finish your cake with chocolate ganache, buttercream frosting (vanilla or chocolate), whipped cream, fondant for elegant designs, or cream cheese frosting for a tangy twist.

Cake Decoration

This is the fun part! Cake decorations are an essential aspect of creating visually stunning desserts, and there are countless ways to enhance the top of a cake using various techniques and materials. Piping is one of the most popular methods, where buttercream or royal icing is used to create intricate designs such as borders, flowers, swirls, or elegant patterns.

Fondant offers another versatile option for cake decorating. It can be rolled out and shaped into beautiful designs like bows, ribbons, figurines, or themed elements. Fondant can also be used to cover the entire cake, creating a smooth canvas for additional embellishments. Sculpting or embossing tools can help add texture or intricate details to fondant decorations.

Other decorative elements include edible flowers made from sugar paste, chocolate shapes, candy accents, or even fresh fruit for a natural and colorful touch. Cake Size and Servings

Cakes by graceDgrains come in the following sizes:

  • 10 cm – our cutest Bento cakes!, serve 1-2 people
  • 15 cm, serve 6-8 people
  • 20 cm, serve 12-16 people
  • 25 cm, serve 18-26 people
  • 30 cm or 15 + 20 cm, serve 28-40 people

Cake Shape

The most traditional size is round, but we can make square, rectangular, heart and oval.

Cake Layers and Tiers

Depending on the size of the cake we have at least one layer (all our cakes are filled) up until four. We will advise on the best option based on your selection of size, shape and flavors!

You may also chose tiered cakes, from two to four tiers, depending on the size of the cake.
